Psyche’s tale is one of the most powerful of the Greek myths in terms of claiming self.
Her story is of one huge dragon fight, with her as the innocent and inexperienced youngster of human birth, pitched against one of the most powerful Olympians, Aphrodite.
Aphrodite is far from human in proportions – she is a goddess born of the sea and reigns in the unconscious. She is certainly no ordinary feminine archetype.
Psyche has to pass through many initiations set by Aprhodite in order to reach the goddess status that reflects her true nature.
It’s a tale that speaks of much of the initiations faced by every woman in this human realm and is one of the themes we explore in June’s Mandala Magic 2015 lesson.
