Monday is creative practice day here at Julie Gibbons Creative.
I haven’t been feeling up to much, to be honest. I felt pretty emotional and fragile, not to mention sleep deprived, from the moment I got out of bed.
I had some commitments that I made sure to keep, but other than those, I was ready to extend a huge dollop of kindness to myself.
Creative practice morphed into creative self care: a practice I can highly recommend when you’re feeling out of sorts. I lit lots of candles, sprinkled some Queen of Sheba organic salts into the tub and I took a bath.
(Turn the sound on for the full bath soundtrack!)
A fresh face mask from Lush and a ten minute rest before I read some of Aphrodite’s Daughters: Women’s Sexual Stories and the Journey of the Soul. Luscious!
It’s no surprise that it all felt particularly linked to Stage Two of the Great Round of Mandala – floating into the light – as I worked on creating my mandala for that stage just yesterday.
Sometimes I’m surprised at just how deeply my creative practice infiltrates my every day.
How is it showing up for you today? However it is, be sure to apply a kindness filter on top (otherwise the magic might not work ;))
Well done on taking care of you, it’s so important and it is lovely to see how your self care is linked to your creativity – but of course it is!!!
Love to you (and love the video) xox
Thanks Rachel! xo
