We have been conditioned [for a very, very, very long time] towards goodness – be a good girl; a good student; a good employee; a good wife; a good mother; a good daughter … the list is endless.
Here’s the truth, though:
YOU ARE NOT HERE TO BE GOOD ; YOU ARE HERE TO BE WHOLE
This is your unlimited truth.
Rather than trying to be good all the time, your energy is best spent trying to win your freedom.
You see, your ‘unacceptable’, ‘dark’, ‘bad’, ‘shameful’ qualities [the shadow] will always fight to be seen. If you deny the shadow, it grows bigger, meaner and nastier – that is its nature. It is a natural phenomenon. The way of the universe.
And it’s why we work to confront, understand, accept and integrate our shadow qualities.
That’s what I’m working on today as I create the last of the content for the Great Round of Mandala lesson for November. It’s juicy. It’s transformative. It shines a big spotlight on the bullshit.
Have you downloaded your free guide to creating your own Found Inspirations practice? It’s so quick and easy, anyone can do it anywhere. But it’s powerful, too – and an ideal way to begin art journaling and get those creative juices flowing!
@juliegibbons Your technique definitely resonates with me. It came right at a time when I was searching for a daily practice, too. Thanks!
