Who Am I?

Julie Gibbons Who Am I

I’ve just completed the Chopra Center Summer 21 Day Meditation Challenge : Creating a Soul Profile.

21 days of consecutive meditation is something I haven’t managed before, despite the unquestioning belief that a consistent, everyday practice will change my life. I was right – cosmic shifts have already occurred!

One of the most precious aspects of this Challenge was that I meditated each day with my beloved hubster and nonchalant teenager. I almost cried every day with the gratitude of that experience, alone.

The first week was spent considering the soul question Who Am I?

The image above is my art journal response to that question.

And now I’ll ask you the same question that David Ji, the challenge leader posed throughout that first week, translated from the words of Persian poet, Hafiz;

Do you know how beautiful you are?
I think not, my dear.
For as you talk of God,
I see great parades with wildly colorful bands
Streaming from your mind and heart,
Carrying wonderful and secret messages
To every corner of this world.
